- Shelter Services
We provide emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence. In addition to a safe place to stay, we offer individual counseling and educational group services. We provide community referrals and advocacy for our clients. We also have a confidential, 24-hour hotline for emergencies and support.
- Children's Program
Children are also victims of domestic violence. We offer children individual counseling and educational group services focusing on domestic violence, safety-planning and safe self-expression. In addition, we provide support to mothers by increasing their positive parenting skills and helping them understand the effects of domestic violence on their children.
- Court Advocacy
We provide advocacy, information and support to the victims of domestic violence throughout both civil and criminal court proceedings. We assist clients in completing orders of protection and advocate for them before the presiding judges. We also provide community referrals and advocacy for clients. Court advocacy services are available in Sangamon, Logan, Menard, Christian and Montgomery counties.
- SAFER Program
Through the Sojourn Advocate For Emergency Response (SAFER) program we provide an on-call advocate who responds directly to a secured scene of domestic battery. We present options to victims of domestic violence and offer them support and any necessary transportation. In addition, we provide advocacy in civil and criminal court proceedings, as well as assistance in completing orders of protection.
- Non-Residential Services
We provide individual and group counseling services to adult and child victims of domestic violence who are not staying in the shelter. In addition, we provide community referrals and advocacy for non-residential clients. Non-residential services are available in Sangamon, Logan, Menard, Christian and Montgomery counties.
- Prevention & Education Program
Community awareness and support are critical factors in ending domestic violence. We provide education to the community, including professional training, domestic violence awareness and dynamics education, and prevention programs. We partner with schools, businesses, agencies, civic and faith-based organizations to prevent violence in our community. Our services are available in Sangamon, Logan, Menard, Christian and Montgomery counties.
- Volunteer Program
Volunteers are essential in providing service to victims of domestic violence. Training is provided free of charge for volunteers and no prior education or training is required. We offer a flexible schedule and volunteers can provide service in Sangamon, Logan, Menard, Christian and Montgomery counties.
