It can be frightening and frustrating when someone you care about is being abused by their partner. Here are some things to remember when someone you know is a victim of domestic violence.

1. Believe them when they tell you.

2. Let them know this is not their fault and they don't deserve this.

3. Tell them what is happening to them is a crime.

4. Let them know you are afraid for them and their children.

5. Tell them their are people who want to help at Sojourn.

6. Give them our hotline number, 726-5200.

Remember, victims of domestic violence are often fearful of reaching out for help. If you offer to make that first step with them by dialing the phone and asking for a counselor, they may be more likely to connect with us at Sojourn.
